Symposium – Walter Tull: His Life and Legacy

100 years after the tragic death in WW1 of Folkestone-born Walter Tull – one of the first black professional footballers – we ask what is Walter’s legacy? How has the game changed for footballers of colour; do they still face racism and do institutional barriers to career progression still exist for players, coaches and managers?

A series of presentations and a panel discussion as part of Walter Tull: His Life and Legacy at Folkestone Museum supported by Shepway Sports Trust. Distinguished ex-players will be joined by key campaigners working in the field of equality and diversity in sport from FIFA, Manchester United, the PFA and sports journalism.

Tickets are £5, payable in advance at quarterhouse.co.uk
