Do you enjoy meeting new people and sharing the history of our area? Support us by volunteering. Volunteers are an important part of the Museum team, bringing their own insights and helping us to forge links between the local community and the Museum.
We are currently recruiting volunteers for the following roles:
Event & Schools Workshop Volunteer (PDF, 320kb)
Cataloguing Volunteer (PDF, 320kb)
Conservation Volunteer (PDF, 318kb)
If you would like to know more about our volunteering opportunities, please email museum@folkestone-tc.gov.uk or call us on 01303 257946.
To apply, you can download a application form below and send it to us. Alternatively, you can send us a video through Facebook or Instagram to tell us about you and which role you’re interested in, and we will get in touch with you to help with your application.
There is no admission charge for Folkestone Museum. We aim to keep access free for all – to achieve that, we need your support.
If you enjoy your visit, please donate to us! We suggest a minimum donation of £2.00.
If you’d like to donate for a specific project, make a bequest, or sponsor one of our artefacts, please email museum@folkestone-tc.gov.uk or call us on 01303 257946.
The museum also accepts donations of objects to the museum’s collection. We do not accept objects on long-term or ‘permanent’ loan.
We are most interested in items that tell the story of the Folkestone and Hythe District Council area after 1945 and also from the late-medieval to Georgian periods.
In the first instance please download and complete an object offer form. We do not accept objects sent by post or handed in at our front desk without a form.
