Diwali - a festival of lights

This Hindu festival symbolises the spiritual ‘Victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance’. The festival also gives people hope and positivity by sharing messages of love and happiness with friends and family. We’d love to see how your lamps and garlands has turned out, you can post pictures on our Facebook page alongside any Diwali messages you would like to send out!

Activities run downstairs in our learning space (11am-12.45pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm), are FREE and are suitable for ages 4-11, but if you're older or younger you'll still be more than welcome!

Activities are free, with no booking necessary, although if it gets a little busy we may have limits numbers for everyone's comfort and safety.

Online Crafting - Stained Glass Leaves

Autumn has arrived at Folkestone Museum. Join us online on Saturday 3rd October where we will be making some stained glass leaves. You can stick them onto a window, door or stand in front of battery tea lights to make them glow.

The online crafting session will be going live at 12pm, Saturday 3rd October 2020 and you can purchase packs with crafting materials used in the video from the Museum for £1. We’d love to see how your craft has turned out so please post online and tag Folkestone Museum so that we can share it!
